Khiva to host Uzbekistan-Belarus Interparliamentary Forum on September 29–30th

TASHKENT, September 18. /Dunyo IA/.   Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva chaired a meeting of the Organizing Committee on preparations for the Uzbekistan–Belarus Interparliamentary Forum, scheduled to be held in Khiva on September 29–30th, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Information Service of the upper chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Belarus on July 9th, 2026, elevated Uzbek–Belarusian relations to a strategic level and contributed to further deepening political, economic and humanitarian cooperation. During the visit, important agreements were reached on expanding trade and economic ties, industrial cooperation, the implementation of joint investment projects and interregional cooperation.

Parliaments of the two countries play an important role in implementing these agreements, contributing to the improvement of the legal framework and ensuring the implementation of adopted decisions through parliamentary diplomacy.

In this context, the meeting discussed measures aimed at preparations for the Uzbekistan–Belarus Interparliamentary Forum, ensuring its high-level organization, reaching new cooperation agreements, as well as tasks identified as part of efforts to communicate the forum’s outcomes to the wider public.

The main objective of the forum is to strengthen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus through the development of interparliamentary dialogue and parliamentary diplomacy, improvement of legislative mechanisms to support trade and economic, investment and innovation cooperation, as well as facilitating the implementation of joint projects in the areas of industrial cooperation, digital transformation, the agro-industrial complex, healthcare, education, tourism and human capital development.

Forum is expected to feature a meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission, Youth Parliaments, a meeting of local representative bodies and the fourth Uzbekistan–Belarus Women’s Business Forum.

It should be noted that one of the important practical outcomes of Uzbek–Belarusian cooperation is that the Uzbekistan–Belarus Women’s Business Forums have established themselves as an effective platform for dialogue between the business communities of the two countries. Hundreds of commercial contracts, investment agreements and memoranda of cooperation have been signed within the framework of these forums, contributing to the establishment of strong business ties between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

At the first Uzbekistan–Belarus Women’s Business Forum, held in Minsk in September 2023, 42 documents worth a total of more than $28.7 million were signed. Following the second forum, held in Tashkent in August 2024, 43 commercial agreements and 22 memoranda worth more than $89 million were concluded. At the third forum, held in 2025, a total of 49 documents were signed, including 27 commercial contracts worth $88.2 million.

Fourth Women’s Business Forum is expected to feature four sessions, including discussions on industrial cooperation, joint investment and the utilization of labor potential; food security and biotechnology in the agro-industrial complex; cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the humanitarian and social spheres; as well as tourism.

In addition, “B2B” and “G2B” meetings are planned between women entrepreneurs and government bodies of the two countries, along with agreements on concluding commercial contracts, agreements and memoranda of cooperation.

Relevant ministries and agencies have been given specific instructions to ensure the high-level organization of the Uzbekistan–Belarus Interparliamentary Forum.
