Bakhtiyor Saidov: South Africa is one of Uzbekistan’s important partners on the African continent

TASHKENT, October 1. /Dunyo IA/. Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a telephone conversation with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa Ronald Ozzy Lamola, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
“Had a warm and substantive phone conversation with H.E. Ronald Ozzy Lamola, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, - Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram-channel. - South Africa is one of Uzbekistan’s important partners on the African continent. We welcomed the positive momentum emerging in our bilateral relations.
Discussed concrete steps to intensify political dialogue, expand trade and investment ties, and advance joint projects.
Particular attention was given to cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement. We expressed our interest in South Africa’s active participation in the events to be held during Uzbekistan’s Chairmanship of the Movement in 2027–2030.
Also addressed the launch of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the further development of our bilateral legal framework.
Agreed to meet in person in the near future and work together to advance the initiatives discussed during today’s conversation”.
As a reminder, Inaugural Uzbek-South African Business Forum was held in Johannesburg in late September, aimed at further expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.
