PRAGUE, December 19. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Czech Republic organized a cultural and gastronomic event for leading local travel organizations and companies at the “Samarkand” restaurant in Prague, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together representatives of the Czech Association of Travel Agencies (ACK), the Association of Tour Operators and Travel Agencies (ACCKA), as well as more than 30 leading travel companies and media outlets.

The purpose of the event was to present the Czech tourism sector with Uzbekistan’s modern opportunities, reforms, and prospects in tourism, as well as to expand practical cooperation between the two countries in this field.

A culinary show featuring the preparation of the traditional Uzbek dish, plov, was organized. Conducted in this format for the first time in Prague, the demonstration attracted significant interest from the Czech tourism community. The culinary presentation allowed participants to gain a closer understanding of the rich traditions and cultural values of Uzbek national cuisine.

Presentations were also held highlighting the Silk Road heritage, historical cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, as well as Uzbekistan’s gastronomic, cultural, ecological, and MICE tourism opportunities. Particular attention was given to the accelerated development of the visa-free regime, transport connectivity, and hotel infrastructure.

Speakers from ACK and ACCKA highly appreciated the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic in tourism, noting that Uzbekistan is increasingly attracting interest from Czech tourists as a promising, novel, and appealing destination.

Separate meetings were also held with representatives of ACCKA and Czech companies, including Kiwi Travel Agency, Adventura Active & Travel, and Flexi Tours Group a.s., to discuss specific areas of cooperation and practical projects.

The strong interest from the Czech side and the agreements reached confirmed Uzbekistan’s significant tourism potential in the European market. In 2026, institutional cooperation between the two countries in this sector is planned to be strengthened, including expert webinars, organizational events, and the launch of specialized tour packages for Czech tourists visiting Uzbekistan.
