Uzbekistan steps up tourism promotion in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, December 15. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting between Uzbek and Malaysian tour operators was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), Malaysian actress and television presenter Adrea Abdullah, representatives of local tour operators, as well as the Tourism Brand Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the country, Daler Yusuf.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Karomidin Gadoev, provided participants with a detailed overview of the reforms being implemented in the country’s tourism sector, measures to accelerate its development, and the creation of favourable conditions for tourists.
It was noted that Uzbekistan currently maintains a visa-free regime for citizens of over 90 foreign countries, including Malaysia, to attract a broader range of international tourists.
To enhance convenience for travellers, airlines including Uzbekistan Airways, Batik Air, and AirAsia operate direct flights between Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur seven times a week.
Participants were also thoroughly briefed on the tourism services offered by Uzbek tour companies, as well as on tourist programs in Bukhara, Samarkand, Khorezm, Tashkent regions, and the capital city. Information was presented on various types of tour packages, including “pilgrimage tourism”, “gastronomic tourism”, “winter tourism” and “MICE tourism”.
During the B2B meetings between tour operators from both countries, concrete agreements were reached to actively promote a variety of tour packages to Uzbekistan in the Malaysian market.
