MINSK, May 19. /Dunyo IA/. As part of the participation of the Uzbekistan delegation in the international conference of the CIS Human Rights Commission, a visit was paid to a remand prison and the Republican Hospital for Convicts of the Department for the Execution of Punishments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by Mirzatilla Tillabaev, a member of the CIS Human Rights Commission and First Deputy Director of the National Center of Uzbekistan for Human Rights; Donier Turaev, Leading Advisor to the Ombudsman's Office; Nodir Usarov, Consul in Minsk and Evgenia Paramonova, Chairperson of the CIS Human Rights Commission.

Purpose of the visit was to hold a meeting with citizens of Uzbekistan held in the penitentiary institution, study issues regarding the compliance with their rights and legitimate interests and provide them with the necessary consular and legal assistance.

During the visit, a conversation was held with citizens of Uzbekistan detained in the remand prison. They were briefed on specific issues related to the exercise of their rights, options for appealing to competent authorities, and the procedure for interacting with the consular office. Particular attention was paid to ensuring compliance with procedural guarantees, obtaining necessary information on the procedure for protecting their rights and legitimate interests, ensuring citizen access to consular support, and maintain.

The visit to the remand prison and the meeting with the citizens of Uzbekistan became an important practical event within the framework of the CIS Human Rights Commission's activities, aimed at strengthening interstate cooperation, providing legal support and protecting the rights of Uzbek citizens located in the territory of Belarus.
