Tashkent region develops investment and export cooperation with Italy

• 110ROME, May 19. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation from the Tashkent region, led by Khokim Zoir Mirzaev, visited Italy, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the President of the Lazio region, Francesco Rocca. In the course of the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of establishing practical cooperation between the Tashkent region and the Lazio region. The Italian side expressed interest in developing cooperation with the Tashkent region in the fields of pharmaceuticals, agriculture, tourism, education, the production of building materials, as well as in the field of organized labour migration of highly qualified specialists.
In addition, meetings were held with leaders of several international organizations, major companies, and business associations.
During the meeting with the leadership of the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization), the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the fields of agriculture and food security in the Tashkent region. In particular, agreements were reached on cooperation in developing irrigation systems, the efficient use of pastures, ensuring youth employment, meat production, as well as increasing the volume of FAO grants for the region and launching projects in greenhouse farming and cooperation.
During the visit, opportunities for cooperation with a number of leading Italian companies and associations were also considered in areas such as the production of basalt fibre, raw materials for hydroponics, the development of livestock farming and feed production, localization of the production of components for waste collection and storage, agricultural machinery, the textile industry, greenhouse farming, logistics and export.
Following the negotiations, agreements were reached on the implementation of investment projects in the Tashkent region in the specified areas, as well as on the expansion of export cooperation.
