KIEV, May 19. /Dunyo IA/. The Ukrainian pharmaceutical company “YURIA-PHARM” is implementing European quality standards at the “Reka-Med Pharm” enterprise in Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with “Kyiv Diplomatic”.
The project is being implemented as part of the objective to increase the share of domestic medicine production to 70% by 2030.
Following the acquisition of the plant in 2023, the company carried out a large-scale modernization of the enterprise: production processes were automated, digital SCADA control systems were introduced, and water purification, sterilization, and cleanroom systems were upgraded. This made it possible to increase production capacity by approximately 50% - up to 13.5 million units per year.
Particular attention is paid to the introduction of GMP standards and the development of a new production culture. The company adapted Ukrainian quality standards and production procedures, taking into account the legislation of Uzbekistan, developed hundreds of standard operating procedures and organized staff training on the principles of GMP and Kaizen.
The company emphasizes that the modernization affected not only the equipment but also the employees' approach to work. Mistakes and deviations in production are viewed as a tool for process improvement rather than a reason for punishment.
Investments in the project amounted to tens of millions of dollars, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Today, the enterprise already exports products to Tajikistan and is considering entering the markets of Kazakhstan and other countries in the region. Future plans include launching new ampoule production lines and introducing “Blow-Fill-Seal” technology.
