Delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the 84th meeting of the Council for Railway Transport of the CIS Member States in Ashgabat

• 111ASHGABAT, May 15. /Dunyo IA/. The capital of Turkmenistan hosted the 84th meeting of the Council for Railway Transport of the CIS Member States, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The delegation of Uzbekistan, led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of “O'zbekiston Temir Yo'llari” JSC, Hikmatilla Rakhmetov, participated in the work of the meeting.
The heads and representatives of the railway administrations of the CIS countries discussed issues regarding the coordination of railway transport activities at the interstate level, ensuring the technological integrity of the international railway network, and its development under modern conditions.
The participants exchanged views on the development of transport and transit corridors, increasing freight traffic volumes, improving logistical chains and strengthening regional cooperation.
Within the framework of the event, the II “Young Railway Workers” Forum was also organized, where strategies for the sustainable development of the sector, the training of highly qualified specialists, the introduction of innovative approaches and educational issues were reviewed.
In addition, bilateral and multilateral meetings, cultural events and sector-specific negotiations took place between the delegations. In particular, the delegation of Uzbekistan held bilateral talks with the leadership of the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan, during which topical issues of cooperation were discussed.
Following the event, a number of agreements were adopted, aimed at further expanding cooperation between the CIS states in the field of railway transport.
