BEIJING, June 6. /Dunyo IA/. The Chinese publication “Diplomat” has published an article highlighting the significance of the Termez Dialogue as a practical implementation of the President of Uzbekistan's initiative to strengthen connectivity between Central and South Asia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The publication notes that this initiative received international support and was endorsed by a UN General Assembly resolution adopted in 2022, laying the international legal foundation for the development of transregional cooperation.
Special attention is paid to the Trans-Afghan Railway Corridor project, which, according to the publication, is capable of reducing logistics costs by 30–40% and providing regional countries with access to Indian Ocean ports. It is emphasized that the implementation of such projects, including CASA-1000 and TAPI, is viewed as a factor for economic integration and strengthening regional stability.
The publication also highlights the participation in the Termez Dialogue of international organizations and foundations, including the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Berghof Foundation, “Search for Common Ground” and Georgetown University.
According to the outlet's assessment, Uzbekistan offers a new philosophy of regional integration, wherein infrastructure projects are viewed as a tool for long-term peace, sustainable development, and strengthening the interdependence of the region's countries.
