WASHINGTON, June 6. /Dunyo IA/. The next phase of the “Uzbekistan Business Leaders” (UBL) program for young entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan has launched in the US, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The official opening ceremony of the program and the orientation seminar for its participants took place at the office of the American Councils for International Education.

The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Alyson Bibb, Deputy Director of the Office of Central Asian Affairs at the US Department of State, Lisa Choate, President of “American Councils”, John Ordway, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “American Councils” and former US Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Armenia, Joe Kapp, Founder of the “National Center for Resource Development”, as well as young entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan.

Speaking at the event, Alyson Bibb noted that in recent years, relations between the United States and Uzbekistan have entered an active phase of development. According to her, bilateral cooperation is dynamically expanding in the fields of trade, investment, technology, and IT. Deepening trade and economic ties, stimulating mutual investments and strengthening practical partnership between business circles remain among the key areas of the Uzbek-American agenda.

She emphasized that active political dialogue at the highest level, regular exchanges of delegations, and the development of economic cooperation are evidence of a strengthening atmosphere of trust between the two countries.

In this regard, the UBL program was highlighted as an important initiative contributing to filling the trade, economic, and investment relations between Uzbekistan and the US with practical substance.

Lisa Choate, President of “American Councils”, spoke about the organization's long-term experience in implementing international educational, professional exchange, and leadership programs involving Uzbekistan. She noted the consistent development of cooperation with our country and emphasized that the annual UBL program is one of its practical outcomes.

According to her, the program serves not only as an educational platform but also as a platform for exchanging experience and developing professional contacts. It also provides American partners with an opportunity to gain a closer acquaintance with the entrepreneurial environment of Uzbekistan, the potential of young business representatives, and new initiatives.

John Ordway congratulated the participants on the start of the program and urged them to study advanced American experience, apply the knowledge gained in practice, and contribute to the further development of economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the event, Uzbek diplomats presented information on the reforms underway in the country, the current dynamics of Uzbek-American relations, the development of trade and economic cooperation, the expansion of export potential and investment opportunities, the strengthening of innovative and technological partnership, as well as interaction in the academic sphere.

As part of an interactive dialogue, the program participants shared their plans to apply the knowledge and experience gained in the US to develop new business models, export-oriented products, digital solutions and innovative projects in Uzbekistan.
