RIYADH, June 25. /Dunyo IA/.  Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riyadh, jointly with the General Consulate in Jeddah, organized a meeting with students pursuing higher education and academic research at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Purpose of the event was to inform the participants about the socio-economic, educational, scientific, and sports reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, as well as the youth policy of the country and preventive awareness-raising work.

During the meeting, the participants were provided with detailed information on the large-scale political and socio-economic reforms being implemented in the republic, including nation-wide programs that are of priority importance for the country's development.

It was separately noted that in Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to creating wide opportunities for the comprehensive development of youth and obtaining quality education.

Furthermore, the necessity for citizens to pursue their university studies diligently, to train as highly qualified specialists, and to apply the acquired knowledge in the future for the development and prosperity of Uzbekistan was explained to them.

Within the framework of the meeting, information on consular and legal services provided by diplomatic missions was presented, and the necessity of timely registration and contacting competent authorities was emphasized.

Special attention was paid to the issues of compliance with the legislation of Saudi Arabia, the inadmissibility of participation in prohibited mass events, as well as warnings against the influence of extremist and radical ideologies.

"The diplomats also explained the current complex situation in the Middle East and emphasized the importance of compliance with safety measures by students and citizens.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a question-and-answer session was held, during which the participants received answers to their questions of interest and consultations on consular and legal matters.
