Samarkand region and the Lesser Poland Voivodeship of Poland agree to develop cooperation in key sectors

WARSAW, June 25. /Dunyo IA/. On the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Poland, an online meeting was held between the Khokim of the Samarkand Region, Adiz Boboev, and the Marshal of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Łukasz Smółka, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the negotiations, sides discussed in detail the prospects for establishing and developing interregional cooperation between the Samarkand region and the voivodeship, as well as identified priority areas of interaction.
Polish side expressed interest in developing partnership with the Samarkand region in the fields of tourism, agriculture, and the food industry, as well as in implementing modern technologies and developing high-tech and innovative solutions.
Possibilities of implementing joint projects in the aviation, chemical, and metallurgical industries, as well as in the electrical engineering sector, were also reviewed.
In addition, Łukasz Smółka declared his readiness to lead a delegation of Polish business circles and representatives of specialized organizations, which is scheduled to visit Uzbekistan in the autumn of this year.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue practical work on forming the institutional foundations of interregional cooperation, preparing a portfolio of joint projects and intensifying the exchange of mutual visits.
