“Oman Daily” Newspaper: Tashkent hosts Media Forum on a new narrative of Islamic Civilization

MUSCAT, September 6. /Dunyo IA/.  Official newspaper “Oman Daily” has published an article dedicated to the international media forum “Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective – New Discoveries”, held in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that the event brought together around 300 journalists, researchers, publishers and experts from more than 50 countries, including representatives of CNN, “Euronews”, “BBC Studios” and the “1001 Inventions” project. The forum opened with a large-scale three-dimensional light show projected onto the façade of the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent, presenting the region’s centuries-old history through images of the Holy Quran and great scholars of the East.

Publication pays particular attention to the task of overcoming stereotypes entrenched in Western media that predominantly associate the Islamic world with conflicts and crises. It underscores the role of modern media formats, documentary filmmaking, digital platforms and artificial intelligence in shaping an objective, scholarly narrative.

Newspaper also highlights key initiatives presented at the forum, including the “114 Qur’anic Manuscripts” project to reproduce 114 Qur’anic manuscripts, the study of the Kattalangar Qur’an, as well as the presentation of the film “The Mosque” and a historical and cultural atlas.

As “Oman Daily” notes, Uzbekistan’s large-scale efforts to promote its scientific and cultural heritage are aimed at presenting the country to the world anew as a historic center of inter-civilizational interaction.
