U.S. Secretary of State to Lead Delegation of More Than 100 Companies to Samarkand

WASHINGTON, September 26. /Dunyo IA/. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead a delegation of more than 100 American companies to Samarkand in mid-October for a C5+1 meeting, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to Special Envoy of U.S. President for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor, the talks will bring together the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

The meeting will focus on strengthening regional economic ties, energy security and joint solutions to pressing issues in Central Asia.

State Secretary will also hold separate meetings with Uzbekistan’s leadership and his counterparts from the Central Asian countries to discuss expanding trade, private investment and economic modernization.

In November last year, during a meeting with the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries in Washington, Marco Rubio said he intended to visit the region in 2027.
