2026 World Cup hosts continue their tournament start: Canada takes the pitch next, followed by the United States

WASHINGTON-OTTAWA, June 12. /Dunyo IA/. Today (June 12), Canada, one of the host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, will play its opening match of the tournament, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

In Group “B”, Canadian national team will test their strength against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The match will take place at “BMO Field” in Toronto, kicking off at 23:59 Tashkent time. Argentine FIFA referee Facundo Tello will officiate the game.

It should also be noted that on June 13 (June 12 in America) at 06:00 Tashkent time, another 2026 World Cup host nation—the United States—will play its opening match against Paraguay in Group “D”. The match will take place at “SoFi” Stadium in Los Angeles. Danny Makkelie from the Netherlands has been appointed as the head referee.

In the first match of the 2026 World Cup, another host nation—Mexico—defeated South Africa 2-0 at the “Azteca” Stadium in Mexico City. In the other Group “A” match, South Korea beat the Czech Republic 2-1.

As a reminder, the Uzbekistan national team is in Group “K” and will play its first match on June 18 against Colombia (07:00 Tashkent time), face Portugal on June 23 (22:00) and meet DR Congo on June 28 (04:30).
