Team of Uzbekistan wins the XVII International Polish Football Championship for Children from Orphanages

• 241WARSAW, June 2. /Dunyo IA/. The XVII International Polish Football Championship for Children from Orphanages was held on May 30 at the OSiR Bemowo Stadium in Warsaw, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the tournament brought together around 400 young athletes representing 39 teams from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek team participated in the competition with the support of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan.
A total of 97 matches were played during the tournament, with 449 goals scored. The competition was held in an atmosphere of sportsmanship, friendship, mutual respect, and enthusiasm among the participants.
Following a series of competitive matches, the team from Uzbekistan secured first place and was crowned champion of the XVII International Polish Football Championship for Children from Orphanages, defeating Legnickie Orły Legnica in the final.
The final standings were as follows:
1st Place – Uzbekistan
2nd Place – Legnickie Orły Legnica
3rd Place – Sternik Szczecin
In addition, Uzbekistan’s Maksim Islamov was named the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Warsaw noted that the team’s successful participation was made possible through the support of the National Agency for Social Protection, as well as the young players’ high level of preparation, discipline, determination, and commitment to representing their country with distinction on the international stage.
The victory of the Uzbek team is regarded as an important achievement contributing to the strengthening of sports, cultural, and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Poland, as well as to the promotion of friendship and mutual understanding among children from different countries.
