DELHI, August 27. /Dunyo IA/. Ahead of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence, the clinic of the University of Military Security and Defense was fully equipped with modern medical technology and equipment and officially commissioned, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The project represents another practical example of the strategic friendship between Uzbekistan and India, as well as mutually beneficial cooperation in the military-medical and educational fields. The initiative was successfully implemented through close coordination and active efforts by the Embassies of Uzbekistan in New Delhi and India in Tashkent, which ensured the prompt delivery of the humanitarian cargo.

The opening ceremony was attended by First Deputy Head of the University of Military Security and Defence, Major General Farkhodjon Shermatov, Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan Smita Pant, as well as military personnel and veterans.

During the event, modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, a specialized ambulance, and four sets of trauma equipment for military hospitals of the Ministry of Defence were officially handed over. The equipment was provided by the Government of India as grant assistance.

As part of the infrastructure modernization, the clinic received more than 70 units of modern medical equipment covering 49 categories, with a total value of $500,000. The equipment includes a digital X-ray machine, a Holter monitor, a bicycle ergometer, an ultrasound machine, as well as modern dental and physiotherapy equipment.

The new medical facilities will significantly improve the quality of healthcare services for military personnel, cadets and their families, while enabling earlier detection and more effective treatment of diseases. The commissioning of the new ambulance will also enhance the efficiency and speed of emergency medical assistance.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan-India cooperation in military education and medicine has been developing steadily. Earlier, with Indian assistance, an information technology and cybersecurity laboratory complex was established at the university. Indian specialists also actively contribute to the training of cadets and officers. Throughout all stages of these joint projects, the embassies of the two countries have provided effective administrative and logistical support.

During the ceremony, sincere appreciation was expressed to the Government of India for its significant contribution to the development of military-medical cooperation. Indian specialists who have made an active contribution to strengthening defence ties were awarded the Ministry of Defence badge “For Merits in Strengthening Military Cooperation” and commemorative gifts.

Following the ceremony, guests toured the clinic and familiarized themselves with the modern facilities and new capabilities created as part of the upgrade.

The modernization of the medical facility represents another practical manifestation of care and attention for military personnel and their families ahead of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.
