Jordanian Media and ICESCO highlight opening of the International Forum of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent

Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the Jordanian state news agency Petra published articles about the first International Forum on Islamic Civilization, currently underway in Tashkent, Samarkand and Termez, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
As noted in the article, ICESCO Director General Salim al-Malik met with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov on July 6th in Tashkent. The parties discussed strengthening their strategic partnership and agreed to prepare a new joint action plan for the next stage of cooperation.
It is also emphasized that on the same day, ICESCO and Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan held a press conference, announcing the participation of approximately 300 speakers from 40 countries in the forum.
As reported by the “Petra” agency, speaking at the forum, Grand Mufti of Jordan, Dr.Ahmad al-Hasanat, described Islamic civilization as a message of knowledge, enlightenment and mercy, noting the contribution of Uzbek scholars - Imams al-Bukhari and al-Maturidi, al-Khwarizmi and Ibn Sina - in establishing a moderate understanding of Islam .
On the sidelines of the forum, Jordanian Fatwa Authority and the Fatwa Center under the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document was signed by Sheikh Ahmad al-Hasanat and Nuriddin Kholiknazar, head of the Uzbekistan Fatwa Center. The agreement provides for joint research, conferences, and the exchange of experience in the field of issuing fatwas, as well as the training of Uzbek specialists in this field.
“Petra” agency also published an article about the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, calling it an international platform for the revival of the heritage of Maverannahr.
