Spanish companies plan to enter Uzbekistan's tourism market

MADRID, May 9. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Farrukh Tursunov, held talks with the heads of major Spanish companies - Raul Gonzalez of “Barceló Hotel Group” and Carlos Garrido of “Ávoris Corporación Empresarial”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding Uzbek-Spanish cooperation in the fields of tourism, the hotel business and attracting investment into Uzbekistan’s tourism infrastructure.

Spanish side noted Uzbekistan’s growing tourism potential, the positive dynamics of infrastructure development, and the country’s increasing international appeal.

The head of “Ávoris Corporación Empresarial” expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan, including increasing the number of direct charter flights from Spain to Tashkent and Urgench operated by Iberojet, an airline within the group’s structure.

The head of “Barceló Hotel Group” expressed interest in developing a strategic market entry concept for Uzbekistan. He highlighted the company’s focus on projects involving the construction of new hotels and the management of existing ones, as well as the creation of specialized internship and training programs for the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Following the negotiations, representatives of the Spanish companies expressed their readiness to visit Uzbekistan in the near future to conduct talks, identify partners, and scout promising sites for joint projects.

Strengthening and expanding cooperation with Spain by creating the necessary conditions for renowned Spanish hotel brands in Uzbekistan will facilitate a further increase in tourist flows not only from Europe but also from Latin America and promote Uzbekistan as a promising travel destination in the global market.
