Diplomats of Uzbekistan and the management of the largest commercial bank in the UAE discuss promising areas of cooperation

ABU DHABI, May 22. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan met with the management of the largest commercial bank in the UAE – “First Abu Dhabi Bank” to discuss the further development of cooperation in the banking and financial sector, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
“First Abu Dhabi Bank”, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, is the largest commercial bank in the Middle East. It was established in 2017 following the merger of the “National Bank of Abu Dhabi” and “First Gulf Bank”. At the end of 2025, the bank's net profit reached 4.4 billion dollars, and its assets totaled 330 billion dollars. The bank operates in countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
During the negotiations, the Uzbek side presented information on the ongoing reforms in the country's banking and financial sector, including the privatization of banks, attraction of foreign investment, introduction of modern technologies, improving the quality of services and expanding financial instruments in the market.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on working out concessional lending for “green economy” projects in Uzbekistan, attracting experts from “First Abu Dhabi Bank” to introduce Islamic finance in the country's commercial banks, as well as the participation of five representatives of the bank in the V Tashkent International Investment Forum.
