Kazakhstan increases export freight shipments to Uzbekistan to 13 million tons

ASTANA, April 6. /Dunyo IA/. In 2025, freight turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan via the “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” network increased by 16%, reaching 32.3 million tons, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with “National Business Kazakhstan” information and analytical publication.
The volume of export shipments reached 13 million tons, the report notes. Deliveries of grain to Uzbekistan rose by 32% year-on-year, totaling 4.5 million tons.
Overall, in 2025, freight transportation across the network of “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” amounted to 319.9 million tonnes, marking a 5.5% increase compared to 2024. Export shipments grew by 7.1% over the same period, reaching 89.2 million tons.
