Issues of protecting the rights of compatriots discussed in Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK, April 2. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan held talks with Acting Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Vladivostok, Yevgeny Volosastov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the negotiations, the Uzbek side informed about cases of Uzbek citizens being denied entry into Russia through Vladivostok International Airport between February 1 and March 25, 2026.

It was noted that due to tightened controls and screening procedures introduced by the Russian side, airlines Uzbekistan Airways and Centrum Air were forced to adjust their flight schedules, resulting in a significant decline in passenger traffic from Uzbekistan.

The parties emphasized that the current situation negatively affects the development of tourism exchanges between the regions of the two countries, as well as the implementation of ongoing trade and economic projects. In particular, this concerns the supply of hatching eggs from Uzbekistan to Primorsky Krai under a USD 20 million agreement between the farming enterprise “Navobod Naslli Parranda” and LLC “AgroPtitsa.”

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek citizens temporarily residing in Primorsky Krai, including those detained for violations of Russian migration legislation.

The sides also discussed accelerating the repatriation procedures for Uzbek citizens held in temporary detention centers for foreign nationals in Primorsky Krai, whose number currently stands at 103. It was noted that the Consulate General receives a significant number of appeals related to the exceeding of established detention periods.

For his part, Yevgeny Volosastov expressed readiness to hold additional consultations with the competent authorities of Primorsky Krai to improve the situation on the issues raised. He also emphasized that cooperation with the Uzbek side will continue in order to ensure the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens residing in the region.
