DELHI, January 12. /"Dunyo" IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in India took part in an event dedicated to World Hindi Day, "Dunyo" IA's correspondent reports.

During the celebration, members of the Indian public and the diplomatic corps were presented with detailed information on the centuries-old cultural and humanitarian ties between the two nations, as well as the key priorities for implementing the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambayev emphasized that for Uzbeks, the sounds of the Hindi language have always felt familiar, as historical and cultural ties between the regions have become deeply interwoven into the very fabric of the languages.

It was noted that linguists confirm the existence of more than 5,000 common words shared by the Uzbek and Hindi languages.

Today, Tashkent is one of the world’s leading centers of Indology. The Department of Indian Philology at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, established as early as 1947, has trained thousands of specialists.

In several specialized secondary schools across Uzbekistan, students begin learning Hindi from an early age. Each year, dozens of Uzbek students travel to Indian universities for advanced language studies, while teachers and researchers participate in exchange programs with leading Indian institutions such as Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi, the Central Institute of Hindi in Agra, and others.

The event also addressed the implementation of the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy, a key document defining the country’s development in the near future. Special attention was given to the updated objectives for 2026, reflecting the Strategy’s adaptation to global challenges.

It was noted that significant emphasis is being placed on digital transformation and the integration of artificial intelligence into public administration and the national economy.

As part of ongoing reforms, important tasks are being addressed, including strengthening guarantees for foreign investors and accelerating privatization processes to attract global capital, ensuring social justice, and introducing targeted social assistance mechanisms to reduce poverty and support vulnerable segments of the population, among others.

Participants’ attention was drawn to the fact that the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy is aimed at building a people-centered state focused on serving the interests of its citizens.
