BOLOGNA, September 14. /Dunyo IA/.  Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullaev held a meeting with President of the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna Michele de Pascale, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, it was noted that interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy has been dynamically developing in recent years. In this regard, the sides discussed the issues of establishing direct ties between the Emilia-Romagna region and the Namangan region.

It was emphasized that the high industrial and manufacturing potential of both regions, the significant role of industrial sectors in their economies, and the special attention paid to the production of high-value-added, export-oriented goods create a solid foundation for developing mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the negotiations, parties also considered the possibilities of attracting Emilia-Romagna companies to implement promising investment and industrial projects in Uzbekistan, as well as expanding technological and innovative cooperation between the two regions.

Special attention was paid to the prospects of implementing joint initiatives with Uzbekistan in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing, utilizing the relevant infrastructure available in this Italian region.

Emilia-Romagna is one of the most economically and industrially developed regions in Italy. In 2025, the region's gross regional product (GRP) amounted to approximately 203 billion euros, ranking second in Italy in terms of GRP per capita.

Emilia-Romagna possesses a high potential in sectors such as mechanical engineering, automotive manufacturing, the agri-food industry, packaging technologies and pharmaceuticals. The region is home to world-renowned companies, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati, Max Mara, Technogym, Pagani, Dallara and Barilla.
