Practical aspects of intensifying Uzbekistan-Pakistan cooperation in the textile industry discussed in Karachi

KARACHI, September 7. /Dunyo IA/.   Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with Zeeshan Bhutt, General Manager of the Pakistani company “Gul Ahmed Textile Mills”, in Karachi, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, prospects for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation in the textile industry were discussed. The parties reviewed the implementation of investment projects in Uzbekistan, the production of value-added finished textile products and their export to other markets.

Company representative noted the long-standing experience of cooperation with the textile industry of Uzbekistan and shared that “Gul Ahmed Textile Mills” was among the first Pakistani companies to begin purchasing large volumes of Uzbek yarn.

Special attention was paid to transport and logistics issues.

Parties also emphasized the importance of transitioning from trading raw materials and yarn to the joint production of finished textile products in Uzbekistan, which will allow for increasing trade turnover, expanding export potential, creating new jobs and attracting technologies and investments.

Following the meeting, practical measures were identified to search for Uzbek partners to work with “Gul Ahmed Textile Mills” under letters of credit, as well as to implement an investment project for the production of finished textile products in Uzbekistan.
