New electric train launched between Tashkent and Bekabad

ТАSHKENT, July 13. /Dunyo IA/. Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the city of Bekabad from Tashkent aboard the new electric train, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the press service of the Head of our State, in accordance with the Presidential Resolution of December 27, 2025, “On Measures to Increase Passenger Transportation on Local Railway Routes Until 2030”, transport infrastructure in the regions is being modernized, and local railway routes are being expanded. As a result, higher-quality and more convenient transport services are being provided to the public.
At Bekabad railway station, President was briefed on the work carried out to launch the route connecting the capital with the city.
192-kilometer Tashkent–Bekabad railway link is expected to serve around 1,000 passengers daily and approximately 300,000 annually. A six-car electric train, with a capacity of 586 passengers and capable of speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour, will now operate on the route. This will provide added convenience, particularly for citizens who commute daily to work and educational institutions.
The electric train is equipped with all the necessary amenities for passengers. In particular, special lifts have been installed for persons with disabilities. The carriages are equipped with air conditioning and heating systems, comfortable seating, USB charging ports, and onboard Wi-Fi. They also feature video surveillance systems, electronic information displays, and dedicated bicycle spaces.
The high-speed train introduced on the route will help reduce traffic congestion on highways and increase the share of environmentally friendly transport.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the responsible officials to further develop railway infrastructure, improve conditions for passengers, electrify railway lines, and landscape the areas adjacent to the railways.
The head of state also paid special attention to the station's infrastructure, the quality of services, and the efficient movement of passengers.
