Mogilev region of Belarus strengthens cooperation with Uzbekistan’s regions

MOGILEV, February 23. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Elena Prudnikova-Kirpichenok, Deputy Chairperson of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, Elena Prudnikova-Kirpichenok noted that special attention is being given to the development of mutually beneficial bilateral ties with Uzbekistan. Within the framework of cooperation agreements, interregional relations between the Mogilev Region and Andijan and Jizzakh Regions are being actively supported. According to her, business circles in the Andijan Region are currently holding meetings and negotiations with organizations in the Mogilev Region and residents of the “Mogilev” Free Economic Zone (FEZ).

“Last year was marked by Belarus - Uzbekistan relations reaching a peak. Since 2021, our foreign trade turnover has grown 2.6 times and currently stands at 35.2 million USD, - she emphasized. But we do not intend to stop there and are working on the goals set by our head of state. Among them is the ambitious target of increasing trade turnover to 2 billion USD by 2030.

The regional executive committee representative added that a wide range of products is exported from the Mogilev Region to Uzbekistan, including timber and wood-processing products, dairy products, beef, poultry meat and by-products, paper and cardboard and finished knitwear. Mogilev enterprises import from Uzbekistan yarn, knitwear, bed and table linen, grapes and other fruits.

The Belarusian side noted that a successful example of cooperation is the implementation of an investment project to establish an agro-industrial complex for poultry meat and compound feed production in the Tashkent Region by the “Servolux” Group of Companies. In October 2025, the first branded store in Tashkent was opened, offering poultry products under the “JO´JA” brand.

During the meeting, issues regarding the participation of the region’s delegation in the upcoming interregional Uzbek - Belarusian forum were also discussed. This forum is expected to expand cooperation in trade, industrial cooperation, agricultural machinery, the meat and dairy industry and the construction sector.
