TASHKENT, October 8. /Dunyo IA/.  State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan hosted the international scientific and practical conference titled “Museum Studies in the XXI Century: Research, Traditions and Innovations”, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the museum, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was co-organized by the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan and “Science and Innovation” international scientific journal.

Conference brought together domestic and foreign experts representing the fields of museum studies, history, archaeology, restoration, and cultural heritage protection. The participants included representatives from the national museums of Kazakhstan, Iran, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, the United States, Japan and other nations.

During the conference, participants discussed current trends in the development of museum studies, the preservation and study of historical and cultural heritage, scientific research on museum collections, and the integration of innovative technologies into museum activities.

Particular attention was paid to archaeological research, the musealization of historical and cultural sites, the study of museum collections, the conservation and restoration of heritage objects, the digital interpretation of museum materials and the presentation of ethnographic, folkloric and tangible and intangible heritage within the modern museum space.

Participants presented scientific reports focusing on historical sources, archaeological materials, and museum exhibits, exchanged practical experience, and discussed prospects for international cooperation in the study and preservation of cultural heritage.

A video presentation dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan was also screened as part of the event.
