MOSCOW, July 27. /Dunyo IA/. Popular Russian newspaper “Nezavisimaya Gazeta” has published an article titled “Bishkek and Tashkent are shaping a shared future”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication highlights the key role of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in strengthening relations with Kyrgyzstan, particularly in resolving the 1,378-kilometre-long state border issue. The exchange of instruments of ratification in January 2023 opened up new opportunities for cross-border trade and investment.

According to the publication, tUzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, established under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with a capital of $50 million, has approved 37 projects in the textile, energy and logistics sectors. Particular attention is also paid to the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project and the Kambarata HPP-1 project.

The newspaper also cites the remarks of Eldor Aripov, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS), who noted that relations have entered the most favourable period in the entire history of independence, while for the first time in decades the two sides have shifted their focus from the legacy of the past to jointly shaping the future.
