MOSCOW, September 22. /Dunyo IA/.  Daily “Nezavisimaya Gazeta” has published an article by Sergey Afontsev, Deputy Director of the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, titled “International Digital Technology Center in the Republic of Uzbekistan: New Opportunities for Bilateral Cooperation”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that the adoption in Uzbekistan of the Constitutional Law “On the International Digital Technology Center”, which will enter into force in 2027, opens up new opportunities for the development of digital technologies and investment attraction. Residents of the Center will benefit from tax incentives, a regulatory sandbox, as well as a special legal regime based on the laws of England and Wales, with its own commercial court.

The author examines the prospects for Russian companies to participate in the Center’s activities, noting opportunities to strengthen their positions in Central Asia and develop partnerships to enter international markets. The article also mentions the operations in Uzbekistan of such Russian digital companies as “Yandex”, “Bitrix”, “Wildberries” and “Kaspersky Lab”.

Particular attention is paid to the prospects for the digitalisation of trade and economic ties between the two countries. In particular, the article highlights the potential of the “Eurasia Connect” project, involving the Interfax operator, to identify partners and obtain verified information needed by Russian and Uzbek businesses.
