- It is a great honour and pleasure for me to address the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the 35^th Anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan.

On behalf of the staff of “The Korea Times” and on my own behalf, I sincerely congratulate the friendly people of Uzbekistan on this momentous occasion.

Over the years of independence, Uzbekistan has traversed a long and honourable path of development, achieving significant success in strengthening its statehood, ensuring sustainable economic growth and enhancing its international prestige. Today, Uzbekistan stands as one of the key and dynamically developing countries in Central Asia, playing an increasingly prominent role in regional and international processes.

Dynamic development of the special strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and South Korea is of particular significance to us. Our nations are bound by strong ties of friendship, mutual trust, and respect, which consistently evolve across the economy, trade, investments, education, science, innovation, culture and other domains.

I am convinced that the solid foundation of our relations rests not only on interstate contacts but also on direct people-to-people ties. It is precisely for this reason that the media plays a pivotal role in further bringing our nations closer together.

As the head of “The Korea Times”, I highly value the opportunity to foster deeper mutual understanding between Korean and Uzbek societies. Objective and professional coverage of the ongoing processes, achievements and new opportunities within our countries allows our peoples to know each other better and strengthens mutual trust.

In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea for its active engagement with the Korean media and for its consistent efforts to develop humanitarian and informational ties between our two countries.
