WASHINGTON, December 16. /Dunyo IA/. As part of a visit to the United States delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of the leading Uzbek diversified holding company BMB Holding, Bekzod Mamatkulov, held talks with Ed Martin, Head of Sales and Distribution of the major retail chain Costco Wholesale, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Costco Wholesale is a major American hypermarket chain with more than 1,000 outlets in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Australia, and other countries around the world. As of 2025, the company’s total revenue amounted to USD 275.2 billion, with a workforce exceeding 341,000 employees.

It is worth noting that the first negotiations with BMB Holding took place during a working visit to Uzbekistan in 2024 by Francesco de Natale, a member of the board of directors of this American conglomerate. At that time, the holding’s export-oriented food products successfully passed the three-stage quality inspection required for sale within the Costco Wholesale network.

During the visit to the United States, representatives of Costco Wholesale and BMB Holding reached an agreement to further develop cooperation, particularly on all organizational matters related to product supplies, including deeply processed agricultural products, fruits and vegetables, as well as saffron. Product samples from the holding were handed over to the American company for marketing purposes.

An agreement was also reached to continue targeted efforts to develop practical mechanisms of cooperation with Costco Wholesale branches in the United States and other countries, as well as to hold additional negotiations in the future.

The first exports of high value-added agricultural and food products produced in Uzbekistan, fully compliant with international standards, to the Costco Wholesale network will play an important role in gradually gaining access to the highly competitive U.S. consumer market through increased export volumes.

Such partnership will undoubtedly contribute to further strengthening the competitiveness of Uzbek products in the global market, creating new jobs, and expanding the potential of national exports through the enhancement of modern logistics systems and quality control mechanisms.
