Pakistani company launched the implementation of a “smart city” project in Khiva

ISLAMABAD, August 25. /Dunyo IA/.  Facilitated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Pakistani company “Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd.” (HRL) has commenced work on a “smart city” project in Khiva, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, HRL delegation toured the Khorezm region and signed a memorandum of understanding with the regional khokimiyat (administration) to implement the investment project.

Project entails the construction of a new “smart city” as part of the expansion of ancient Khiva.

According to HRL representatives, the company plans to apply its expertise in smart city planning, infrastructure development, transport networks and utility systems to Central Asia.

At the same time, the project outlines the preservation of Khiva's historical and cultural heritage while creating new opportunities for residents, businesses and investors.

HRL possesses extensive experience in implementing large-scale infrastructure and smart city projects in Pakistan, including “Capital Smart City Islamabad” and “Lahore Smart City”.
