LAHORE, May 21. /Dunyo IA/.   During his visit to the city of Lahore, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with Shahzad Asghar Ali, CEO of “Style Textile”, one of Pakistan's largest textile companies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the textile industry of Uzbekistan, as well as the revival of enterprises that have suspended their operations or are operating at low capacity and the introduction of effective management mechanisms.

The importance of elevating Uzbek-Pakistani cooperation in the fields of industrial cooperation, investment, and expanding export potential to a qualitatively new level was emphasized. Special attention was paid to attracting modern technologies, advanced management experience, and access to international markets to the textile industry of Uzbekistan, which, as noted, could become an important stimulus for the development of the country's light industry.

Ambassador spoke about the opportunities for establishing new production facilities in Uzbekistan and presented information on 29 textile enterprises whose activities have been suspended or are operating below full capacity. The Uzbek side offers Pakistani partners the option of full buyout or transfer into trust management.

Shahzad Asghar Ali, CEO of “Style Textile”, expressed interest in implementing joint projects in Uzbekistan and confirmed his readiness to begin substantive negotiations with a reliable partner.

The parties also exchanged views on organizing a visit of the “Style Textile” delegation to Uzbekistan to familiarize themselves with the country's favorable investment climate and available opportunities, as well as to develop business strategies for transferring textile enterprises into effective management.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold a video conference with the leadership of the Light Industry Development Agency to discuss the proposals and initiatives considered during the initial stage of negotiations.
