Uzbekistan highlights expanding pilgrimage tourism potential at prestigious International Exhibition in London

LONDON, February 18. /Dunyo IA/. The international exhibition “Muslim Travel Show” has taken place at the “ExCeL London” exhibition centre in the capital of the United Kingdom, bringing together leading representatives of the global pilgrimage tourism industry, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Within the framework of the event, Uzbekistan’s extensive potential in the field of pilgrimage tourism was comprehensively showcased, highlighting the country’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage, its unique historical landmarks and its modern infrastructure designed to accommodate international visitors.

During a dedicated presentation, Uzbekistan’s Tourism Brand Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Sophie Ibbotson, together with representatives of the British travel company “Halal Travel Guide”, outlined the advantages of travelling to Uzbekistan for Muslim tourists.

Speakers underscored the availability of halal-certified services, convenient transport connectivity, a well-developed hotel network and specially curated pilgrimage routes, positioning Uzbekistan as an increasingly attractive destination within the global Muslim travel market.

Particular attention from exhibition participants was drawn to the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent, which for centuries served as major centres of Islamic civilisation.

Guests were presented with detailed information on revered holy sites, historic mausoleums and architectural monuments, as well as contemporary tourism packages, national cuisine and opportunities for comfortable accommodation tailored to international visitors.

Uzbekistan’s participation in the “Muslim Travel Show” has enabled the country to further consolidate its standing on the international tourism stage and expand cooperation with foreign partners in the field of pilgrimage travel.

Established in 2016, the exhibition annually brings together representatives of the global travel industry. The forum encompasses halal-certified destinations, specialised tourism products, gastronomy and modest fashion segments designed to serve the needs of Muslim travellers worldwide.
