Representative of Uzbekistan participates in the UNESCO80 Youth Initiative

• 93PARIS, September 8. /Dunyo IA/. An event titled “Building a New Culture of Peace in the Minds and Spirits of Women and Men of the 21st Century”, organized within the framework of the UNESCO80 process, took place at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
A representative of Uzbekistan Rukhsora Shakirova, a participant in the 14th UNESCO Youth Forum who facilitated the international youth consultations, took part in the event via videoconference.
Consultations were conducted this summer with the support of France and brought together 145 young leaders from 135 states. Following their outcomes, the documents “Youth Call for a New Culture of Peace” and the “Youth Reflection Document” were prepared.
Participants presented proposals to expand the role of youth in peacebuilding, develop international approaches to youth and artificial intelligence, promote a culture of dialogue in education, counter hate speech and protect minors from harmful digital content.
Event was held under the leadership of the Director-General of UNESCO Khaled el-Anany and President of the National Assembly Committee on Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot. They emphasized the importance of youth participation in strengthening peace and further developing the “spirit of peace” that forms the foundation of UNESCO's activities.
It was noted that the representation of Uzbekistan in the UNESCO80 consultation process contributes to the more active involvement of the youth of Uzbekistan in the international discussion on the future directions of UNESCO's activities and the role of the younger generation in implementing its mandate to strengthen peace.
