DELHI, July 21. /Dunyo IA/. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for the creation of a foolproof system for conducting public exams following mass youth protests triggered by leaks of examination materials, reports Dunyo IA correspondent citing Reuters.

According to Minister of Parliamentary Affairs & Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju, authorities responded quickly to reports of irregularities in the examination process. Thirteen people were arrested, and a re-examination was conducted without delays in announcing the results. Kiren Rijiju said prime minister called for strict action against those responsible and the creation of a system that would prevent similar violations in the future.

The protests were sparked by leaks of materials from a national entrance examination for medical colleges, which affected more than two million applicants. Members of the “Cockroach Janta Party” (CJP) movement demanded the resignation of Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan.

Around 180 people were injured during clashes between protesters and police in New Delhi. Following the incident, CJP leaders said they would continue their protests but would avoid further marches toward parliament to prevent additional confrontations.

The movement is also demanding the education minister’s resignation and compensation for the families of students who, according to activists, died by suicide following the examination leak scandal.

The “Cockroach Janta Party” (CJP), which began as an online joke, has quickly grown into a major youth protest movement amid growing frustration over problems in India’s education system and limited employment opportunities.

The movement was founded in May by 30-year-old Abhijeet Dipke, a graduate of a US university. The creation of CJP was reportedly prompted by comments from India’s Chief Justice Surya Kant, who allegedly compared the country’s unemployed youth to “parasites” and “cockroaches” during a court hearing. In response, Abhijeet Dipke jokingly posted on social media: “What if all cockroaches came together?” Activists later turned the phrase into a symbol of resilience and protest.
