ТАSHKENT, July 27. /Dunyo IA/. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected construction progress in New Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, Leader of Uzbekistan first visited the Directorate for the Construction of New Tashkent. There, using a large-scale model and a digital map of the city, he was presented with information on the overall progress of construction, the layout of major facilities and plans for further development.

President considered the coordinated development of transport and engineering infrastructure alongside the construction of facilities, the integration of green areas and public spaces and the integration of New Tashkent with the existing territory of the capital. He emphasized the need to implement all projects within a unified urban planning concept while ensuring high quality and architectural harmony.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev then visited the campus of the Nizami National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan, which is under construction in New Tashkent.

The complex is being built as part of the first phase of the New Tashkent project. Final construction and finishing work is currently underway in the rector's office and several faculty buildings.

Head of State inspected the interior of the buildings, the layout of educational and administrative premises, engineering systems, and landscaping work. Responsible officials reported on the progress of construction, the equipping of the buildings, and preparations for commissioning the campus.

The new campus will include academic buildings, research laboratories, an information resource center, an electronic library, student dormitories, and sports and cultural facilities. It will provide an integrated environment for education, scientific research, and student life.

The university plans to gradually introduce international educational standards and transform its management system based on the experience of New Uzbekistan University. Educational processes will also be managed through modern digital platforms.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev then inspected the construction progress of the new building of the National Library of Uzbekistan in New Tashkent.

The facility is being built as one of the key scientific and educational centers of the new city. Construction of New Tashkent began with educational and enlightenment facilities, and the National Library occupies an important place in this concept.

Construction and finishing work on the complex is currently 90 percent complete. The library is scheduled to be commissioned this year.

The four-story building, with a total area of more than 30,000 square meters, will be able to accommodate 1,420 readers at a time. Its architectural design harmoniously combines national traditions with modern solutions.

The library will feature dedicated high-tech facilities for the storage, cataloguing, preservation, and disinfection of its collections. It will also provide online access to the electronic databases of major national and international libraries.

A dedicated educational and research environment will be created for visually impaired users. The complex will also include a 300-seat café, a gallery, sports facilities, and recreational areas. The library will thus become a modern center that brings together reading, scientific research, and cultural and educational activities.

Head of State issued instructions to complete the remaining construction and finishing work to a high standard and to ensure the effective organization of the library's collections, digital services, and visitor facilities.

President then visited the new campus of New Uzbekistan University.

The complex, being built on a 50-hectare site, is designed to accommodate 10,000 students. In addition to academic and administrative buildings, it will include a library, a museum, exhibition and multimedia halls, a sports complex, a swimming pool, and student dormitories.

Particular attention is being paid to creating an integrated environment that brings together education, scientific research, innovation, and student life.

It was noted that these educational and enlightenment institutions will form a modern scientific and educational environment in New Tashkent and help unlock the knowledge and potential of young people.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also inspected the construction progress of a modern football stadium in New Tashkent.

Construction of the arena, designed to accommodate 55,000 spectators, began in November 2025. Currently, 65 percent of the work has been completed.

The stadium will serve as the main venue for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2027. The tournament's semi-final and final matches are scheduled to be held here.

The six-story sports complex is being built in full compliance with FIFA requirements. It will feature modern facilities for athletes, spectators, and media representatives.

More than 10 escalators will be installed to facilitate the movement of spectators. The stadium grounds will include three training pitches and parking for 5,500 vehicles. A metro station will also be built near the arena.

The architectural design of the stadium combines modern solutions with national traditions. Particular attention is being paid to the principles of green energy, smart management, and environmental sustainability.

It was noted that the arena will serve not only as a venue for major international competitions but also as a center for the development of youth sports, the training of professional footballers, and the expansion of the country's modern sports infrastructure.

Head of State instructed officials to complete the construction work within the established timeframe, to a high standard, and to ensure the harmonious integration of the stadium with New Tashkent's transport system and overall urban environment.
