ТАSHKENT, October 23. /Dunyo IA/.  Today, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, discussions focused on the practical implementation of the project to construct Uzbekistan’s first integrated nuclear power plant, as well as the development of supporting infrastructure using advanced technologies and expertise.

Ongoing construction of the foundation for the first reactor building and progress in the design of the nuclear power plant were welcomed.

Particular attention was given to training qualified specialists for the nuclear energy sector, including through the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” and facilities of “Rosatom”.

The meeting also explored prospects for cooperation in developing a residential town for nuclear industry workers near the future power plant, featuring energy-efficient housing, modern educational, healthcare and sports facilities, along with other amenities designed to provide a comfortable living environment.
