SHANGHAI, May 16. /Dunyo IA/. Within the framework of the conference “Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation and Exchanges between Shanghai and the Belt and Road Regions”, a presentation of the investment potential of Uzbekistan took place, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event aimed to establish a platform for high-level dialogue, strengthen consensus on open cooperation, discuss pressing international economic and trade issues and bring together key participants in the global economy and trade.

The conference was attended by representatives from more than 200 leading Chinese companies. During the panel session, officials from the Consulate General in Shanghai delivered a presentation highlighting the investment potential of Uzbekistan.

The participants were provided with detailed information regarding the republic's significant infrastructural potential and the comprehensive package of preferences established for foreign investors. The core advantages of doing business in the country were also highlighted, including opportunities to participate in national and regional investment projects, tax and tariff incentives, export support measures, and access through Uzbekistan to the markets of Central Asia, the CIS and the European Union.

Within the framework of the presentation, attendees were briefed on cooperation opportunities in tourism, green energy, IT, the textile industry, the agro-industrial complex, logistics and pharmaceuticals.

Following the event, meetings were organized with several Chinese companies that expressed interest in collaborating with the Uzbek side. Furthermore, agreements were reached regarding the deployment of business delegations to Uzbekistan.
