ASTANA, October 8. /Dunyo IA/. Kazakhstani information outlet “Infozakon.kz” has published an article entitled “Uzbekistan is securing its place in the Global Hub for Technological Outsourcing”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Publication notes that in recent years, the sector has evolved from a predominantly domestic IT market into an export-oriented model encompassing software development, BPO, KPO, creative industries and professional services. The volume of IT outsourcing services grew from $3.2 million in 2019 to $716.4 million in 2025, while the number of IT companies increased from 369 to 3,400, and the volume of IT services provided reached $2.8 billion. According to the publication, the country is gradually moving from performing individual technology-related tasks to hosting a broader range of corporate functions.
Publication emphasizes that demographics remain one of Uzbekistan’s key advantages: the country’s population stands at approximately 38 million, with around 60 percent under the age of 30. More than 220 universities operate in the country, 145 of which offer IT-related programs, while the number of IT specialists is estimated at around 500,000. The BPO segment is also expanding rapidly, with more than 540 companies and over 14,500 specialists, compared with just 136 people in 2020. North America accounts for 54 percent of exports, the European Union and the United Kingdom for 17 percent, and the CIS and Asia-Pacific regions for 22 percent.
As noted in the article, more than 4,000 companies operate within the “IT Park Uzbekistan” ecosystem, including over 1,100 companies with foreign capital from 75 countries, creating more than 56,000 jobs. Mechanisms such as the “Soft Landing” framework and the “Zero Risk” program are in place to attract foreign businesses.
In conclusion, publication emphasizes that further development will be measured by the average size of export contracts, the complexity of the functions performed, the number of large international teams established within the country, and the share of high value-added services.
