TASHKENT, September 28. /Dunyo IA/. Today, following the opening ceremony of the 5^th Samarkand Forum on Human Rights in Tashkent, a high-level meeting was held, dedicated to the development of the international system for the protection of human rights, the right to development and global solidarity, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Meeting was attended by heads and experts from the UN and its structures, OSCE, SCO, CICA, CIS, TURKPA and other international and regional organizations.

During the discussions, the results and prospects for the development of the international human rights protection system six decades after the adoption of the international covenants were reviewed. The universality, indivisibility, and interdependence of all human rights were emphasized, as well as the significance of the right to development for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and reducing global inequality.

Particular attention was paid to international cooperation in addressing contemporary challenges, including digital transformation, climate change, armed conflicts and humanitarian crises.

As a reminder, the 5^th Samarkand Forum is organized by the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, OSCE, International Committee of the Red Cross and International Center for Development and Justice.
