Direct flights to be launched between Tashkent and Amman

AMMAN, June 27. /Dunyo IA/. A presentation highlighting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential was held in Jordan to mark the launch of regular direct flights between Tashkent and Amman, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together representatives of Jordan’s tourism industry, leading tour operators, hospitality sector executives, as well as officials and specialists from Royal Jordanian Airlines.

Participants were introduced to Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage, its unique architectural monuments inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the country’s renowned tourist routes covering the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Shakhrisabz. Guests also learned about the country’s growing opportunities in ecotourism, gastronomic, medical, and business tourism.

Particular interest was shown in Uzbekistan’s pilgrimage tourism potential. The presentation highlighted the country’s rich Islamic heritage, the resting places of prominent Islamic scholars and theologians, and the measures being implemented to provide comfortable conditions for foreign pilgrims and visitors.

It was noted that the launch of the new air route is expected to elevate tourism, business, and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Jordan to a new level while significantly increasing the flow of visitors between the two countries.

The inaugural scheduled direct flight operated by Royal Jordanian Airlines is set for 30 June. According to the timetable, Flight RJ196 will depart from Queen Alia International Airport in Amman at 10:50 p.m. local time and arrive at Tashkent International Airport at 5:25 a.m. the following day.

The new air link between the two capitals will significantly reduce travel time and create additional opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in tourism, trade, investment, culture, and humanitarian exchanges.
