CARACAS, June 27. /Dunyo IA/. Death toll from the earthquakes in Venezuela has reached 920, while rescue teams continue searching for survivors, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing CNN.
As a reminder, two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela within seconds of each other. The second quake, with a magnitude of 7.5, was one of the strongest ever recorded in the country over the past century.
The injured are being treated in temporary medical facilities after dozens of buildings, hospitals, and shopping centers were destroyed in northern regions, including the capital Caracas.
A senior government source said hundreds of international rescue workers have already arrived in the country, with more on the way.
Many people remain missing, and authorities warn that the death toll is likely to rise as rescue operations continue.
