Libraries of Turkestan and Jizzakh have signed a memorandum of cooperation

ASTANA, April 30. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the intelligentsia from Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region went on a literary trip to Uzbekistan, initiated by the “Farab” Regional Universal Scientific Library, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the “Gurk.kz” publication.

During the visit, delegation visited the city of Jizzakh, where participants laid flowers at the monument to the outstanding statesman, public figure and writer Sharaf Rashidov to honor his memory.

Following this, representatives of the intelligentsia from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan took part in the international conference “Book Reading: A Spiritual Bridge Between Nations”, held at the Sharaf Rashidov Regional Library in Jizzakh.

During the event, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Jizzakh Regional Information and Library Center and the “Farab” Universal Scientific Library. The document provides for the exchange of experience, the implementation of joint projects and the expansion of cultural ties.

Uzbekistan’s intelligentsia expressed interest in further strengthening spiritual cooperation. As a gesture of goodwill, Abdullah Akhmatuly, President and Founder of the International Academy of Literature, Art, Culture and Social Sciences, along with Academician Abdumannop Abdulazizuly, donated a rare photo album titled “The Caucasus and Central Asia” to the library. They also presented an ancient book, “Bokironiy Kitobi”, published in Kazan in 1908, to the library's collection.

In turn, the staff of the “Farab” library presented about 150 works of fiction to their colleagues from Jizzakh.
