Uzbekistan and Poland agree to expand business participation in upcoming business forums

WARSAW, May 16. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with the President of the Polish National Chamber of Commerce, Andrzej Arendarski, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the talks, the participants discussed prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres.
The Polish side noted that Uzbekistan is regarded as an important and promising partner in Central Asia, highly praising the significant intensification of mutual visits as well as the developing dialogue between representatives of the business communities.
Following the meeting, a number of agreements aimed at expanding business ties between the two countries were reached.
In particular, the sides agreed to attract Polish companies to a business forum scheduled for May 27-28 within the framework of the visit of the Uzbekistan delegation, headed by the Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry, Nozimjon Kholmurodov.
Additionally, plans are in place to organize a major business forum during the visit to Poland of a delegation led by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, later this year.
The parties agreed to initiate efforts to revitalize mutual business missions, as well as to ensure the participation of Polish companies in the IT conference scheduled to take place on June 16 in Warsaw.
Particular attention was paid to channeling the financial instruments of the Polish National Economy Bank (BGK) toward the implementation of joint investment projects in such sectors as energy, geology, electrical engineering, agriculture, the food industry, IT, the chemical industry, medicine, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and textiles.
In addition, the sides discussed the active engagement of Polish companies in the “Termez” International Trade Center, the participation of businesses from both countries in international exhibitions and fairs, and the opening of branches of leading Polish universities in Uzbekistan.
The parties also reviewed matters regarding assistance in easing the visa regime for citizens of Uzbekistan and the organization of a dedicated corridor for Uzbek freight carriers at the Brest border crossing checkpoint.
