STOCKHOLM, September 11. /Dunyo IA/.  At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Sweden, an online meeting was held featuring Nima Rostami, Lawyer and Founder of “NIRO Advokatbyrå”, alongside representatives from Migration Agency and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the prospects for developing practical cooperation in the field of labor migration from Uzbekistan to Sweden were discussed.

Representatives of the Uzbek side provided information on the current system for training and selecting citizens for employment abroad. In particular, they highlighted the existence of a specialized database comprising approximately 1.5 thousand potential candidates with professional experience in construction, architecture, the hospitality and restaurant business and other high-demand sectors.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of migrants' compliance with the legislation of the host country, the terms of employment contracts, as well as keeping them informed about the culture, traditions and customs of the destination state. Importance of language and vocational training for candidates prior to their departure abroad was emphasized.

Practice of Uzbekistan's cooperation with German partners was presented as a successful example. In particular, vocational training centers for migrants operating across all regions of the country, established with the participation of specialists from Germany, provide training in high-demand professions and the German language. This experience could be utilized to formulate similar mechanisms of cooperation with the Swedish side.

Nima Rostami expressed interest in obtaining additional information regarding Uzbekistan's organized migration system, the requirements of Swedish employers, the professional training of candidates, and existing state support mechanisms.

Following the meeting, parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in establishing practical interaction. The sides expressed readiness to continue consultations and collaborative efforts to engage interested Swedish employers and recruiting agencies toward the further development of cooperation in the field of organized labor migration.
