KUALA LUMPUR, September 11. /Dunyo IA/. Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia hosted an official reception on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of our country's Independence, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives of the government and parliament of Malaysia, the diplomatic corps, business, science, education, tourism, medicine, the media, and the Uzbek diaspora.

Guests of honour at the event were the Deputy President of the Dewan Negara (Senate) of the Parliament of Malaysia, Nur Jazlan Mohamed, and the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Tiong King Sing. They extended their congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan on the 35th Anniversary of Independence, wishing the country peace, success and prosperity.

During the reception, consistent development of Uzbek-Malaysian relations was emphasized. Particular attention was paid to the high-level visits that took place in 2024–2026, as well as the intensification of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Participants of the reception were presented with the outcomes of the reforms implemented within the framework of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy, aimed at the further development of the nation. In particular, significant emphasis was placed on economic growth, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, social policy, poverty alleviation and the improvement of the investment climate.

As part of the event, an exhibition was held featuring scale models of Uzbekistan's historical monuments, products by national craftsmen, traditional attire and photographs dedicated to the country's history. Guests were also presented with dishes of Uzbek national cuisine.

The cultural program was presented by the “Nurafshon” ensemble of the Tashkent region alongside Uzbek performing artists, who delivered national songs and dances reflecting the cultural diversity of the various regions of Uzbekistan.

Deputy President of the Dewan Negara (Senate) of the Parliament of Malaysia, Nur Jazlan Mohamed:

- We observe positive outcomes from the political and socio-economic reforms implemented in Uzbekistan over the past decade. We highly appreciate the country's peaceful, pragmatic and balanced foreign policy. Taking this opportunity, I wish the people of Uzbekistan peace, prosperity and continued success.

Vice-Rector of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Badrul Isa:

- We highly appreciate the consistent reforms in the fields of tourism and education, as well as the policy aimed at ensuring interethnic harmony and tolerance. Within the framework of today’s event, we have organized a photo exhibition showcasing the outcomes of the university delegation's visit to Uzbekistan in August and have prepared a dedicated album commemorating the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan.

Executive Director and Chief Partnership Officer at the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, Max Say:
