Uzbekistan explores Israel’s innovative solutions for Arid Regions

TEL AVIV, July 29. /Dunyo IA/. An online meeting was held between representatives of Karakalpakstan and the leadership of the “DeserTech and Climate Innovation Center”, an Israeli center specializing in the development of innovative solutions for arid regions and adaptation to climate change, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Event was attended by the Chairperson of the Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of Karakalpakstan Leyla Seitova, Director of the “DeserTech and Climate Innovation Center” Sivan Cohen Shachari, Rector of Karakalpak State University Berdiyar Jollibekov, as well as representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel.
During the meeting, parties exchanged views on the development of international cooperation in the field of ecology, sustainable environmental management, scientific research, the introduction of innovative technologies and the training of specialists.
Leadership of the “DeserTech and Climate Innovation Center” presented detailed information on the center's activities, ongoing initiatives, and Israel's experience in developing technological solutions for regions facing the impacts of climate change, water scarcity and desertification processes.
Representatives of Karakalpakstan, in turn, briefed the participants on the ongoing efforts to improve the ecological situation, develop scientific potential and implement measures aimed at mitigating the consequences of climate change.
Following the negotiations, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing partnership relations and agreed to initiate cooperation by preparing and signing a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding, which will serve as the foundation for further interaction in areas of mutual interest.
