NEW DELHI, July 28. /Dunyo IA/.  Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambaev, met with the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan and the Election Commission of India. Head of the Election Commission of India gave a high assessment of the current level of cooperation and reaffirmed the interest in further strengthening institutional partnership.

Particular attention was paid to the exchange of experience in election management, personnel training, and the development of professional contacts. The Indian side expressed its readiness to organize professional training programs for representatives of the CEC of Uzbekistan and to continue the practice of exchanging international election observers during electoral processes in both countries.

The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in the application of modern electoral technologies, including Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems. They agreed to continue expert-level dialogue in this area.

At the meeting, Gyanesh Kumar invited representatives of the CEC of Uzbekistan to participate in the annual International Conference on Democracy and Election Management, which will be held in New Delhi in January 2027.

In addition, the Indian side presented its initiative to develop the global “Encyclopedia of the Democracies of the World” and handed over relevant materials to the Uzbek side for consideration and possible participation in the project.
